How long will it take for my order to arrive?

As for delivery times, we generally take 5-7 days for synthetic fabrics and 7-12 days for natural fabrics. Ideally, you should always simulate your order on our website and you will see an estimated delivery date that you can shorten by paying an urgency surcharge if you need it in a hurry. We have 2 types of emergency surcharge:

24/48h in which an extra 50% is charged on the total value of the order with a minimum of 35€. In this case the order is delivered overnight. It may take 48 hours if the order is delivered after 12 noon.
48/72h in which we charge 25% extra on the total value of the order with a minimum of 25€. In this case the order will be delivered within 2-3 days maximum and we are committed to ensuring that this is the case.

Type of inks used for printing fabrics

En Textilfy contamos con 3 tipos de estampación según sea la fibra o material sobre la que estamos estampando: tejidos sintéticos, tejidos naturales o polipiel. Todas cuentan con certificado OEKO-TEX y son base agua.

What to keep in mind about fabric care

En general, nuestras telas se pueden lavar en lavadora a 30º de temperatura máxima.

Las polipieles y hule NO se pueden meter en lavadora. Se limpian con un paño húmedo.

En ningún caso debes emplear blanqueador como lejía o cloro. Preferiblemente plancha a baja temperatura por la cara del tejido (no por la cara de la impresión).

En tejidos acabados, para que el color se conserve lo mejor posible en el lavado, es aconsejable lavar la prenda del revés en programas cortos de lavadora a 30 ºC, sin prelavado, y con jabón libre de fosfatos para ropa de color. Nunca lavar en seco y, si se lava a mano, usar sólo la cantidad de detergente recomendada y no dejar en remojo más de lo indicado. No secar en secadora y dejar secar al aire.

En tejidos naturales puede aparecer desgaste al plegarse el tejido y rozar con el tambor de la lavadora, por eso se aconseja lavar a mano. En el caso de querer meterlo en la lavadora, aconsejamos darle la vuelta al producto antes de meterlo en la lavadora y, si se trata de un bolso o neceser, introducir en él una toalla para que abulte y lo se pliegue en ningún momento del ciclo de lavado.

No todos los tejidos resisten igual al desgaste por lavado o rozamiento, por eso, como norma general, no recomendamos lavados industriales, lavados en seco o lavados a mano con mucho jabón/rozamiento. De todas formas, si necesitas un tejido cuyo estampado sea muy resistente al desgaste, por favor, escríbenos un e-mail a hello@textilfy.com contándonos tu caso y te recomendaremos el que mejor se adapte a tus necesidades. Nunca aceptes estas condiciones sin antes estar seguro si el tejido sobre el que vas a estampar cumple las expectativas de lavado que tienes.

En concreto, es bueno saber que en estampaciones sobre fibras celulósicas o proteicas (seda, algodón, lino, viscosa…), cuando se hace un color sólido de fondo, o el estampado tiene mucho fondo y poca forma (se ve mucho el color sólido), pueden ocurrir desgastes parciales en el lavado. No recomendamos colores sólidos de fondo en estos casos.

Se recomienda planchar los estampados por la parte de atrás y con la plancha a calor medio. Nuestros tejidos sintéticos no admiten los plisados y se han de planchar con cuidado colocando un trapo entre las caras estampadas del tejido si se van a planchar una contra otra, haciendo siempre una prueba previa de planchado. Son tejido sublimados y puede reactivarse la tinta manchando el tejido contrario.

En cuanto a los usos del tejido, corresponde al cliente hacer la pruebas necesarias para verificar que el tejido cumple con las necesidades que requiere para la aplicación deseada, ya que no nos hacemos responsables de posibles desperfectos ocasionados por su uso.

What I need to know about colour

The subject of color is the most complex but we will try to explain it as well as possible so that you have the knowledge and tools necessary to get what you need. In digital printing on natural fabrics the color yield is limited and the tones are always a bit dull, this is inherent to digital printing on natural fabrics. For synthetic fabrics, for example, the color yield is much higher and we can obtain very intense, bright and saturated colors. You must take into account that what you see on the screen and what you get on the fabric can vary due to many factors: the fabric on which we print, the color profile of the file, the calibration of each screen... This is specifically discussed in our terms of use. If you want a specific colour, it is best to use our colour chart, as there will always be differences between what you see on the screen and what you receive printed. Please find attached some information about the use of our colour chart. One thing to bear in mind is that in digital printing there will always be variations in colour from what you see on the screen to what you get printed on the fabric. Each screen has a different colour calibration, so the same file will look a little different if you see it on one screen or another. This means that the screens can be used as a general guide but never as a safe value. When we want specific tones the best thing to do is to work with our FOGRA39 CMYK COLOUR CHART, it is the most reliable, the fastest and in the long run the most economical. I will explain it briefly and if you need it later I will expand this information. The printed colour chart looks something like this:

The colour chart occupies 1 metre of printed fabric and its price is that of the fabric on which it is printed. This chart is specific to each fabric, as each fabric has its own exclusive colour performance, so that the same file will look different when printed on different fabrics. That is why it is ESSENTIAL always work with the colour chart printed on the same fabric we are going to print our designs on. USE OF THE COLOUR CHART CMYK FOGRA39 The colour chart printed on fabric is accompanied by the same chart in digital format so that you can use it when designing. This digital chart would be sent to you by email. 1.- We choose the shade we like on the colour chart printed on fabric. 2.- We take this colour from the digital colour chart (file opened in our computer). 3.- We paste the same tone on our design. In this way, regardless of what we see on each screen, we will always know with total certainty which shade will be printed on the fabric. It is ESSENTIAL for a correct use of this colour chart that ALL the files are always in the CMYK FOGRA39 colour profile. When you are going to use the colour chart (file and printed physical chart), if you have any queries, please contact us and we will try to solve all the doubts that may arise. If you want this print with more intensity, I recommend synthetic fabrics without a doubt, the result in terms of colour will be more satisfactory.

Question 6

Preparing files for printing and their resolution

When you upload a file, Textilfy should in principle correctly recognise the actual size of the image and also its resolution. This, obviously, does not always happen because there are many image editing programs, with multiple versions of each of them, and it is difficult that even having a standard file extension and resolution the recognition of all the data in the file works automatically correctly 100% of the time. This is why it is so important that, before loading the final print file, you check thoroughly what values Textilfy is giving you (what values it is measuring automatically) and if they correspond to what you want to obtain in fabric. Let's make an example here by uploading an image with the Textilfy logo. You can download it from here in case you want to test. After selecting the type of fabric and quantity we need, we upload it directly and the following information appears:

Textilfy is telling us that it has correctly recognised the image, it indicates firstly the name of the file and secondly its weight. Then the size in pixels and finally its dimension in centimetres at a specific resolution. This size in centimetres and this resolution are the dimensions to be respected when preparing the file for typing. If we look at the preview that Textilfy also makes automatically:

We can count that in the 145cm width of the fabric there are 11 repetitions of the logo and a little more of nº 12. If you divide 145cm by those 11 units you get a little more than 13 centimetres, which is what Textilfy is telling you (in text) that your file is wide. IMPORTANT. The preview that Textilfy performs is just that, a PREVIEW. It is normally loaded at a very low resolution to make it as fast as possible and not to saturate the server because several clients are loading designs simultaneously. Therefore, if you notice a low quality in the file or a marked pixelation, you should not panic as long as you have made sure that your file is of sufficient quality. That is to say, there are times when even with sufficient quality the file may look a little blurry or pixelated in the preview. Let's now open this same file in Photoshop and check its dimensions from the Image > Image Size menu...

What information can we read here? That indeed the width x height pixels coincide exactly with the automatic reading returned by Textilfy. But if we continue a little further down, in Document sizewe observe differences. Here it shows a resolution of 300 dpi and dimensions of 6.16 x 6.16 cm. We can see that this is just half of what Textilfy indicated because the image has just double the resolution. In reality the image is exactly the same, that is, the file as such contains exactly the same information. The difference is that Photoshop is showing it at 300dpi instead of 150dpi. If we do the exercise of modifying the resolution down to 150dpi and (VERY IMPORTANT) without checking the option Resampling the imagewe obtain the following:

In this case it is measuring the same size as Textilfy although there is a slight difference. If you are not sure that the resolution/quality/size of your file is the right one, check the option of "Archive review". that we have added to our shopping cart.

Question 7

What is a colour chart

A colour chart or pantonera is a file with about 1,600 colour references that we use to print on each of the fabrics we work with and thus have a concrete reference of each of the tones. Here we show you what ours looks like printed on a synthetic fabric:

For each fabric you have the possibility to buy a colour chart. You receive it at home and you can make colour substitutions to find the colour you are looking for. Question 8

What methods of payment do you accept

We accept credit card, Paypal and bank transfer. Orders paid by credit card or Paypal go directly into the production queue or under review (if applicable). Orders paid by bank transfer are reviewed daily to pass them to production, it usually takes 24/48h to receive the confirmation email. To avoid delays, we recommend that you send us an email to hello@textilfy.com with proof of payment. Orders pending payment will appear in My orders with this status until the payment is validated correctly. But they will not go into production in the meantime. If you select an urgent supplement option, we recommend that you pay by credit card or Paypal so as not to delay the order due to the time elapsed in the validation of the payment by transfer.
