They are cleaned with a damp cloth.

Under no circumstances should you use bleach such as bleach or chlorine. Preferably iron at low temperature on the side of the fabric (not on the side of the print).

In finished fabrics, so that the colour is preserved as best as possible in the wash, it is advisable to wash the garment inside out in short washing machine programmes at 30 ºC, without pre-washing, and with phosphate-free soap for coloured clothes. Never dry clean and, if hand washed, use only the recommended amount of detergent and do not soak more than indicated. Do not tumble dry and allow to air dry.

Wear and tear can appear on natural fabrics when the fabric folds and rubs against the washing machine drum, so it is advisable to wash by hand. If you want to put it in the washing machine, we advise turning the product inside out before putting it in the washing machine and, if it is a bag or toiletry bag, insert a towel in it so that it bulges and folds it at no time during the washing cycle.

Not all fabrics are equally resistant to wear and tear due to washing or friction, so as a general rule, we do not recommend industrial washes, dry cleanings or hand washing with a lot of soap/friction. In any case, if you need a fabric whose print is very resistant to wear, please write us an e-mail to hello@textilfy.com telling us your case and we will recommend the one that best suits your needs. Never accept these conditions without first being sure if the fabric you are going to print on meets the washing expectations you have.

Specifically, it is good to know that in prints on cellulose or protein fibers (silk, cotton, linen, viscose…), when a solid background color is made, or the print has a lot of background and little shape (the solid color is very visible), partial wear can occur in the wash. We do not recommend solid background colors in these cases.

It is recommended to iron the prints from the back and with the iron on medium heat. Our synthetic fabrics do not allow pleating and must be ironed carefully by placing a cloth between the printed sides of the fabric if they are to be ironed against each other, always doing a prior ironing test. They are sublimated fabric and the ink can be reactivated by staining the opposite fabric.

As for the uses of the fabric, it is up to the customer to carry out the necessary tests to verify that the fabric meets the needs required for the desired application, since we are not responsible for possible damage caused by its use.

Shipping costs and conditions for each area

      +

At Textilfy we produce from Spain and ship your purchases all over the world. We will focus on color substitution.

In digital printing on natural fabrics the color yield is limited and the tones are always a little matte, this is something inherent to digital printing on natural fabrics. For synthetic fabrics, for example, the color yield is much higher and we can obtain very intense, bright and saturated colors.

You should bear in mind that what you see on the screen and what you later get on the fabric can vary due to many factors: the fabric on which we print, the color profile of the file, the calibration of each screen… This is specifically discussed in our terms of use.

If you want a specific color, it is best to use our color chart, since there will always be differences between what you see on the screen and what you get printed. I am attaching some information about the use of our color chart.

One thing to keep in mind is that in digital printing there will always be variations in color from what you see on the screen to what you get stamped on the fabric. Each screen has a different color calibration so the same file will look somewhat different if you see it on one screen or another, this makes the screens serve as a general orientation but never as a safe value.

When we want specific shades, it is best to work with our CMYK FOGRA39 COLOR CHART, it is the most reliable, the fastest and in the long run the most economical. I will explain it briefly and if you need it later I will expand this information. The patterned color chart looks something like this:

The colour chart takes up 1 metre of printed fabric and its price is that of the fabric on which it is printed.

This chart is specific to each fabric, as each fabric has its own unique color performance so that the same file will look different when printed on different fabrics. That is why it is ESSENTIAL to always work with the color chart printed on the same fabric that we are going to print our designs.

USING THE CMYK FOGRA39 COLOR CHART AND COLOR SUBSTITUTION

The color chart printed on fabric is accompanied by that same chart in digital format so that you can use it when designing. I would send this digital letter to you by email.

1.- Choose the tone you like over the color chart printed on the fabric.

2.- We take this color from the digital color chart (file opened on our computer).

3.- We stick that same tone in our design. In this way, regardless of what we see on each screen, we will always know with total certainty what tone will reach us in the printed fabric.

It is ESSENTIAL for a correct use of this color chart and applying color substitution is that ALL files are at all times in the CMYK color profile FOGRA39.

When you are going to use the colour chart (file and printed physical letter), if you have any questions, please contact us and we will try to answer any questions you may have.

If you want this print with greater intensity, the ideal is undoubtedly to choose synthetic fabrics, surely the result in terms of color will be more satisfactory in terms of color performance.

Preparing Files for Printing and Their Resolution

      +

To prepare files for printing, here are some tips even if you are not an expert with digital editing tools such as Photoshop or Illustrator.

When you upload a file, Textilfy must in principle correctly recognize the actual size at which the image is and also its resolution. This, obviously, does not always happen because there are many image editing programs, with multiple versions each, and it is difficult that even having a standard file extension and resolution the recognition of all the data in the file works automatically correctly 100% of the time.

For this reason it is so important that, before uploading the final print file, you thoroughly check what are the values that Textilfy is returning to you (what values are the ones that it is automatically measuring) and if these correspond to what you want to obtain in fabric.

Let’s do an example here by uploading a basic image with the old Textilfy logo to prepare files for printing. You can download it from here in case you want to do tests.

After selecting the type of fabric and quantity we need, we upload it directly and the following information appears:

Textilfy is telling us that it has correctly recognized the image, it tells you first the name of the file and secondly its weight. Then the size in pixels and finally its dimension in centimeters at a specific resolution.

This size in centimeters and this resolution are the dimensions that will be respected when preparing the file for typewriting.

If we look at the preview that Textilfy also makes automatically:

We can count that in the 145cm width of the fabric there are 11 repetitions of the logo and a little more of the number 12. If you divide 145cm by those 11 units you get just over 13 centimeters, which is what Textilfy is telling you (in text) that your file is wide.

IMPORTANT. When preparing files for printing, the preview that Textilfy makes is just that, a PREVIEW. It is usually loaded at very low resolution to do it as quickly as possible and not to overwhelm the server due to several clients loading designs simultaneously. Therefore, if you notice low file quality or strong pixelation, you should not panic as long as you have made sure that your file is of sufficient quality. That is, there are times when even with sufficient quality the file may look a little blurry or pixelated in the preview.

Let’s now open this same file in Photoshop and check its dimensions from the Image > Image Size menu…

What information can we read here? That indeed the pixels of width x height coincide exactly with the automatic reading that Textilfy returns to us. But if we go a little further down, under Document Size, we see differences. Here it marks a resolution of 300dpi and dimensions of 6.16 x 6.16 cm. We can see that it is just half of what Textilfy told us because the image has just twice the resolution.

In reality, the image is exactly the same, i.e., the file itself contains exactly the same information. The difference is that Photoshop is showing it to us with 300dpi instead of 150dpi. If we do the exercise of modifying the resolution by lowering it to 150dpi and (VERY IMPORTANT) without checking the Resample image option, we get the following:

In this case it is measuring the same size as Textilfy although there is a slight difference.

If you are not very convinced about how to prepare files for printing, that the resolution/quality/size of your file is adequate, check the “File Review” option that we have incorporated into our shopping cart.

File review is an extra service that includes: checking size, resolution, and continuity of the design. It does not include the modification or correction of the original design. But you make sure that the process of preparing files for textile printing doesn’t become a problem for you.

What is a color chart?

      +

Many of our customers ask us what a color chart is.
